Miller Park District: Urban Design Studies (Guidelines), The City of Chattanooga, Volume I and II, Urban Design Consultancy in association with Koetter Kim & Associates, Boston, MA for the Office of the Mayor. (Published 7/4/1985)

The guidelines established a design framework that would result in a public realm and an architecture that was consistent with the goal of creating a vibrant and memorable city center.

Interpretations of the Miller Park District Development Guidelines were commissioned, created and then later presented publically in early 1986 by the following architectural firms:

Skidmore, Owings, Merrill -New York, New York

Koetter, Kim Associates -Boston Massachusetts

Tuck, Hinton, Everton -Nashville, Tennessee

Peterson & Littenberg, Architects -New York, New York

Robert Seals, Architect -Chattanooga, Tennessee

These interpretations demonstrated to the community that design guidelines could be interpreted in a number of unique ways that would not result in cookie-cutter building forms.
